🙏🏽 From My Heart: A Daughter’s Dedication
I thank God for my Dad. He was my first teacher, my biggest cheerleader, and my forever role model. From the time I was 8 years old, he nurtured my love for teaching. Whether it was co-teaching ESL in a small church classroom or shadowing him at college — yes, he took me to his PE class! — Dad made learning an adventure.
He was a married, life-long learner, a father of three, and a full-time worker who still made time to pursue higher education. He didn’t just teach us to dream — he showed us how. That one college visit sparked my journey as a fitness leader, professor, and college administrator.
In September 2021, we lost Dad to COVID-19. Writing my children’s books, Rosie Goes to College and Beloved Daughter, helped me grieve, remember, and celebrate the best parts of him — his kindness, encouragement, and unwavering belief in education and family.
